Hey does anyone have any good, reliable links to benchmarks between p4's and AMD 64s. I tried tomshardwareguide search but all i came up with is

that reviewer underclocked the 9700 in the pentium 4 to the same mem/core as the pentium m/a64, thats why the results are so similar. in the real world the pentium 4 CAN clock higher, ending up with the best benchmarks. do a search on toms hardware im pretty sure he has real benchmarks comparing them.

No, the P4 can't clock higher.. the GPU can, and only because most P4 notebooks are designed to accomodate tons of heat from the processor, which also helps remove heat from the GPU. Xir wanted a comparison of the P4 and A64, which is what that review gives. Having GPUs clocked differently doesn't reliably compare the processors.

thats what i meant, the link gaspod listed was comparing game performance, hence why i mentioned it. pentium 4 with the 9700 is the best for gaming, period. right now anyway.
