Why PCTorque?

Thread Starter
I just priced out a 3760 (735, 1GB, 60GB/7200rpm, DVD/CD-RW, WinXP-Pro, extra AC Adaptor, and phillips warranty (3 yr total)) at Sager for $2245. The same configuration from PCTorque came out at $2284. Is there still reason to buy from PCTorque over Sager?

Thanks.......Peter

PCTorque is very customer-friendly, they prompty respond to any complaints/problems and they will fight hard on your behalf should something go wrong with the system. There is anecdotal evidence all over this forum to support that.

However, if you don't care about such things, then going with Sager will save you $39...

You're welcome to order direct if you like, many have and seem to be happy with it. PCTorque is often (though as you found not always) cheaper, but they're a really good bunch of people who will really work with you. If you have an issue and are trying to contact Sager, then they may be able to help you try to get in touch with someone there. I don't have personal experience with that since I've only just ordered, but I couldn't be happier with the treatment I've received from Luke at PCTorque. He's been helpful, courteous, and hasn't complained once about my incessant emails. Though I'm sure he's breathing a sigh of relief that my order's finally in.

Compare the sales policies between the two, and see if ordering from PCTorque is worth the little extra to you or not. One of the perks of PCTorque is that if, for any reason, you aren't satisfied with your purchase, you can return it within 30 days and get your money (less shipping of course) back. I'm not sure if Sager has anything comparable or not, honestly I haven't checked their policies.

IF you live in California, you can bypass paying the sales tax by buying from PC Torque.

If you found this forum invaluable like everyone else, you should repay PCT with your business. also, customer service is the best

One thing i am not happy about, but it make a lot of sense. Is that there are delays when checks are involved. Maybe i should have used a credit card. faster confirmation because it doesn't go through the mail system.

would using a debit card be considered paying with cash?

Doubt it. The merchant still has to pay overhead fees with the debit card.

Zakaluka basically nailed it right there. Plenty of anecdotal evidence of their customer service/support if you read around the forums for awhile. Also check out www.resellerratings.com and see what you can find there.

When I bought mine, buying from Sager wasn't even really one of the options I'd looked at. That's how convincing the stories were that I'd read here on the forums.

Ok, thanks everyone. Added customer service sounds like the benefit. Worth it to me.
