I bought a Creative Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra 30GB (geez, thats a mouthful of a product name!) for my girlfriend to take with her to Germany this summer and then use for college when she comes back. The thing is awesome. It's alittle larger than the competition, but it has the replaceable battery. (Ask any Ipod owner why that's important and they'll tell you why.) The sound is incredible, and it is really fast when loading it up with songs (even when it is 15GB's worth of music). Cons: The software sucks! I mean it is horrible. Typical Creative crap. I can't tell you how bad it is, its so bad. I have a Winamp playlist that has over 2500+ songs in it all arranged in a very precise and logical order, but with the Creative software it is impossbile to duplicate such a list. I wanted to load all of the music I had for my girlfriend but with the Creative stuff, it would've taken years to get it all sorted out. SO, I stumbled upon a program called Notmad Explorer, by Red Chair Software. YOU HAVE TO GET IT! It is so awesome. You just open it up, import your Winamp playlist into it, and voila it's done! That simple!! It even automatically converts unsupported formats into MP3 or WMA (Xtra doesn't support Ogg Vorbis). You can do so much more with Notmad its not even funny. It's so easy to use and very intuitive, plus the help information along with it is outstanding. I paid $25 for the software, which was a small fee for all the time and aggravation and hassle it saved me. As for the player's operation it is very logical and very easy to use. My girlfriend learned how to use it in about 10 minutes and hasn't had a problem since. I recommend the Zen Xtra, just as long as you get Notmad Explorer, too.
