water cooling a sager

I wonder if we can take out the included heatsink/fan module in the sagers and replace it with a waterblock... Of course 2 holes would have to be made on the case for the water ducts to connect to the radiator.... and it wouldn't be a portable computer anymore....
Besides voiding your warranty, and posibly...err most likely ruining your laptop, you would be able to overcome heat issues and upgrade to faster processors at any time

on a related note, if you want to laugh, check out this thread:

Watercooling the wrong way
Well, as far as I've heard from everyone here, "heat issues" are nonexistant... But hey it would be sweet if someone did that :-) AND did it successfully. I wouldn't, lol, cuz I would like my warranty... and because I do need at least some measure of portability, lol, which the sagers provide more than enough of in my case. A radiator would not be fun to tug around. :-)

That link is hilarious!!

That thread that you linked us to really is hilarious! Those Irishmen and Brits really do have a unique sense of humor.

At Comdex, I saw a really cool [pun not intended] demo by Koolance, a company that sells water-cooling products. They had a working motherboard and CPU running inside of a tank filled with a non-conducting liquid that they use in their water-cooling products. It was pretty surreal, seeing a working motherboard running in a tank full of liquid.

@#$% HILLARIOUS!!!

I loved that link. So many funny things.

Do Brits really call computers "pooters". Maybe it's just me, but that sounds like junior high anatomy if you know what I mean. Anyway, read that post, everyone--but not if you're at work. You'll get fired for disrupting everyone w/ laughter!!

Kendalf, I have seen a similar setup done by a friend of mine who used some kind of oil (don't remember which kind but definitely a non- conductive type) and submerged most of his computer components in it, he then circulated that oil through a small refrigerator to cool it. He was able to do some crazy overclocking with it.
