WTF? I am now totally confused, After talking with Alienware yesterday and being told that my system is being delayed for at least three weeks, I come home today to find an e-mail saying I am now in PHASE 9!?!?!?!?? Is this possible? Could it be a mistake?

I am probably getting excited and hopefull over nothihng, but we shall see. Is it possible that it could sit at phase 9 for weeks on end? or is this generally a sign that it is actually being built?

Oh wait... I just re-read alienware's phase descriptions, and they said that if a backorder is going to cause a delay, it would happen in phase 9. DRAT!

My system is being delayed too. caused by the internal mini pci card. I will not get it before my trip starts, which means at least a month before I have it.. Grrr...

I completely missed 4-8. Didn't even get an e-mail about them.

This phase thing is wierd. I am begining to think that they are generating more negative feelings about their product then good ones. If you didn't have the phases to keep checking on, would you be concerned at all about the progress of your system?

I am begining to have my doubts..

I'm concerned about the lack of dual channel memory, the 128mb gpu (when sager and dell have the 256), the LIMITED AVAILABILITY OF EVERY CPU BUT THE 3.0 (Which I am forced into buying due to time issues)..

Someone.. please set me back on the path of loving Alienware again. Give me reasons why this is still a good system. Why I shouldnt cancel my order today and buy a Sager for less money with increased performance?

I think it is absolutely outrageous for people to have to wait a month or more to recieve a product they are paying good money for. What kind of company operates like that? If I want the 3.4processor I shouldnt be forced to wait for 4 weeks, if I want the 9700 radeon I shouldnt be forced to wait another 5 weeks.

I feel better now that I got that out.

Dude, there is not much diff from the 3.0, and the 3.4. Millisecnods. Nothing to get upset over. BTW, it saved you money and time.

They are not making you wait for teh fun of it, It is cause they have to specifically order the parts for you. (I think)

I'm cooled down now, I'm a lot of people playing the phase game through similar stages of joy/frustration.

The initial joy of ordering and excitement followed by frustration concerning the speed of the process (for some)... and hopefully followed by further joy when my system arrives.

I also went through phases 4-9 today so that helped out some too .

I can't believe it.... but I just went to phase 12 today. I called them and spoke to a rep b/c I didn't believe them. They told me they are actually showing it as shipped (which means it is out on the loading dock waiting to be picked up). I was told they are no longer giving tracking numbers for NY/NJ, but that they could tell me it will be at its destination on FRIDAY! YAY!!!

I know... I was talking to the guy on the phone and i still couldn't believe it.

Today is just SOOOO much better than August 21st/28th that I was told.

I was probably the nicest caller that customer service guy got all day!

We must be Alienware twins Br1a5 because when I called today they said even though the site still says im in stage 12 that it has actually shipped and that it will be arriving on FRIDAY! Are you going to take/post pictures? We both could do reviews on our laptops on the same day .

I was told I couldn't be given a tracking number because I live in NYC (new security policy). They told me it would deffinately be here on Friday, but they were wrong... it got here TODAY!! I am on it right now.

Got off to a rocky start (blue screened a few times), but i chalked it up to my old Linksys wireless card. I removed it and have been running great since.

I've only been on it for less than an hour, but i love it allready. They keyboard alone feels great. Can't wait to get some games running.
