Acer Ferrari or Alienware Aurora

Well i'm still looking for a AMD64 notebook and am considering the Acer Ferrari 3200 which is all but impossible to find or sit and wait for the Alienware Aurora to come out some time this month or the next and pay through the nose. It would be great if resellers started to sell the barebones of the Alienware but it's doubtful that will happen.

What do you guys think?

I think the Ferrari has a good bang for the buck, just sell the ram and HD and replace those with faster components if you really care to.

If the aurora isnt going to come out until some time next month, then wait, because I have the feeling that the Compal they use will begin to be sold through other channels. The Sentia has already been found (cyberpowerinc) and the older Sentia was sold at internetishop. Just wait and see if it starts selling somewhere else....

I think they would be good desktop replacements but for my needs, 50% desktop 50% mobile they are just too bulky. If i wasn't moving around so much i would have gotten the AX7 when it first came out.

The specs on the Compal show that it isn't a widescreen, so that a bit of a let down. The good news it that it will be using the true mobile 3400+ not the DTR version.

Here are some comparison
Ferrari
USB Ports 4
DVD+-RW x4
CPU 2800+
Blue tooth Yes
GPU 9700
screen SXGA+
weight 6.6 lb
card reader 4 in 1

Compal
USB Ports 5
DVD+-RW x8
CPU 3400+ tru
Blue tooth No
GPU 9700
screen SXGA+
weight 6.6lb
card reader 3 in 1

Yes I feel the same way ....but isn't the compal just as big as the ax7 ? I'm not sure but from the pictures it look BIG and bulky I'm hoping that it's not to bulky cause I'm seriously considering the aurora.....and the ferrari

Here are the dimentions. Definitely smaller than the AX7

328mm×270mm×27 - 42mm
12.91in X 10.6in X 1.06in - 1.6in

I was surprised by the weight of the new Compal. It has about the same weight of the CL56 and the CL56 in my opinion was very nice, in terms of its dimensions and weight.
