I know this is kind of an old thread, sorry, but I recently had a horrid experience with micromedics as well.
I work fro Circuit City, so when I got my laptop I got the extended warranty on it (accidental because I know I do dumb stuff sometimes). A year and a half passes before my three year old spilled a coke on it while I was at work. My wife called to give the bad news. I had my firedog tech ship it off to micromedics. I logged in to the agent desktop (micromedics note tracking system) daily to check up on the status. The notes clearly stated the scratches on the case which I knew about, and then stated what tehy were fixing. They replaced the logic board, the battery, and repaired the keyboard. Ok, cool, my laptop was on it's way back. I was at teh store when my laptop came back, i open it up, and almost immediately it pisses me off, the next day it gets shipped back to them. The keyboard was cleaded, but all the buttons that were damaged before were sill not right. They stuck made some wierd clicking sounds, or just did not work at all. There was a cover on teh front of the laptop (i think it was the IR sensor cover) that had been glued on, I dont even know why it was taken off. The guys fingerprint was visible in the hardened glue. The most irritating thing was the fact they had somehow created a pressure point int eh upper right hand corner of my screen. I kept noticing a really bright white area and when i looked closer I could see that something was either currently putting pressure on it, or it had something putting pressure on it that made it do that. Micromedics recieved the laptop on May 16/07. on May 18 i called and they said it was being diagnosed and the tech would update the notes when it was done. Ok, no prob. On Monday (May 21) I cehcked the notes again, and they had ordered parts, but no list as to which parts. Tuesday I look and they had replaced teh keyboard and top casing of the laptop. No mention of the screen which had been stated, photographed, and posted when we opened the claim. So I had our techs drop a note into the system asking what they were going to do about it, an hour late the claim was closed with no reply. So now I am waiting on teh laptop to get back (due Friday). They guys I work with and I are taking bets to see what is wrong with it this time. But I have already informed MicroMedics that if the screen is not fixed, it will be promptly shipped back to them once again.
With the ammount of laptops we send out to them, it is relatively few and far between that we have issues, but it just pisses me off that problem was not only NOT fixed, but they somehow created more issues than when it left.
