How's PCI-E going?

Thread Starter
I was gone for a while and didn't follow the latest developments. How is the PCIe desktop front going? Are the parts (915/925 boards, PCIe graphics cards, LGA775 processors, VIA PCIe chipsets for Athlon 64, socket 939 Athlon 64s, etc) widely available yet? Anyone own a hand-built PCIe system or one built by Dell/IBM/Alienware yet?

I know a lot of prebuilts are including pci-e but it doesn't seem to be the widely available, the 939s are out but they are still really exspensive.

I'm wondering when the nforce 4 chipset is going to be released.

Supposedly, the NF4 will be out in the Fall.

At this point, PCIe is happening but its still moving slowly. A lot of bluster but not much progress. I expect the pace to pick up in September when summer vacation is over and all the design kiddies get back to work.

May get at least one PCIe machine as early as September but it will be the end of the year before there is any kind of choice. Come the new year, the race will be on. Perhaps even for the late Christmas buying season.
