What's the better music format?

Hi everyone,

So, what do you prefer? mp3 or ogg? feel free to post another format... and, please, please, tell why you think so. I didn't put the Windows Media format, because I think if everyone start using it, soon or later MS will charge us for using it

Although I use OGG on some musics, I prefer the MP3 format, because it's widely used.

I'll soon upgrading my musics to a better bitrate (as media capacity goes up, I mean, DVD dual-layer, why not make new copies at better bitrates?)

Thanks.

I liked the quality on the one mp4 (m4a) song i listened to. It's awesome. Most of my stuff is mp3 though.

I like mp3's at 192 kbps. I cant hear any differences past that.

m4a's are also called ACC, a very nice format made(?) by apple, its higher quality and smaller size encoded at 128kbps, compared to mp3's that is. Whenever im ripping cds, or getting highbitrate mp3's i convert without any noticeable downgrading(mp3s usually 320kbps)

I use mostly 192kbps MP3s, its a good widley supported balance!

My iPod supports MP3s but not WMP files so I converted them to aac.

I belive that MP3s are the best becaust they are WIDELY ACCEPTED, so if any music players do not support MP3s, they are not worth supporting (which means most digital music players DO support them).

I prefer mp3 as well, anything 128K and above. Sure, there's a little detectable difference between 128 and 256 or 320, but sheesh, I don't really care. I usually rip at 128 or 192, just to keep the sizes down (I have about 50GB now, so sizes can add up fast).

I'd like OGG or even AAC, but it's a bit too late for something NEWER and BETTER, since most players (non-computer/component) play mp3. Yeah, yeah, some can be flashed, but let's be real: mp3 is here for a good long while.
