I dont think I am in the position to disclose that information. Let me just say that we should all live our lives on the forums according to the rules set forth by the kind people that created them.

think that was the only review of the N15RB anywhere on the net...

hmmm... seems like free speech isnt a priority on these boards

The boards are paid for and hosted by a reseller, so we really cant complain. This is by far the best notebook community ive found yet.

I just thought the Twinhead review was pretty non-biased, i wasnt aware he broke any forum rules.

Roarak, you're right, this is the best forum on the web for notebooks, but conflict of interest is always going to be a problem, until this site gets some kind of seperation from the retail site. This forum can be a money maker on its own and is important for the people who are interested in notebooks to get their word out and get their questions answered.

He broke forum rules/policy by using the forums as a means of selling his notebook, or attempting to sell. Had he just written the review and not offered to hook people up with units (he being a reseller), everything would have been fine and there would have been no need for the deletion of his review.

Thanks.

Can we expect to see him on the forums anymore, or did this result in a ban/parting of ways?

I agree with what you say Enderet, but to beat a dead horse....The AUP gets broken every day. There are many, many, many posts on the general notebook forum, that advertise other resellers (against the AUP) that makes Hioctains post, a minor regression at best.

While there are posts that say "Oh i bought xxxx notebook from xxxx place, and its the best, blah blah blah", we dont have actual resellers or representatives of resellers coming in and saying, "hey guys look at what we have, send me a PM and ill hook you up", or things to that extent.

While I do admit that there are many posts that break rules in the general as you mentioned, especialy the "where should I buy" kind, as stated above, the crossing of that line (actual use of the forums as a means of selling), is enforced. There have been several forum members, some of which were real knowledgeable regarding notebooks and of great trust/worth to the notebookforums community, but when that line is crossed, the mods just dont let it go.

I do not know if he is banned indefinetely, or if it is somewhat of a temporary ban.

Point taken

Would be sad to see a member who actually contributes get banned/leave on his own. This forum (as great as it is) has many problems with rules/enforcment. There should be some kind of vote to add some mods to the forums.

Using a simple google you can find hioctane at another forum (i think its the same hioctane) and if need be, you can contact him there.

For those interested... you can see a list of mods here:

http://notebookforums.com/showgroups.php?

The bottom section in that link has a list of users that have been banned. However, it seems somewhat strange, as there have been several users who have been banned, or whos membership has been revoked (from what I have seen), yet they do not appear within that section.

I see no mod listed for "Other Systems Discussions". This is sorely needed.

Nope, doesnt appear to be a specific mod for that. However, whenever there has been a need for it.. the trusty "Report Bad Post" button has done its job, as has a PM to some of the more active mods (myrkat ).
