OK so far I've been looking around and I'm not impressed by the UK websites offers on notebooks. I know that pct can ship to the UK, but if i did eventually did go with them i was wondering what additional charges i should expect. I ask because I've never tried to buy something across the Internet, or have anything shipped from abroad.

if you are overseas & they are exporrting you won;t need to pay the vat. buy things are more ex ni the uk....exchange rate diff see...their tech & product rollout is also slower then the us....there is other options though...norway & germany has a few companys that seem good....search the forum.

Hey xir, I'm from the UK too and in the same situation. The UK's pretty useless when it comes to PC's and Notebooks, and with the weak dollar it makes a lot of sense to get it from the states.
Having purchased stuff from the states before, I'm telling you the best way is to get a friend, if possible to bring it over for you, otherwise your hit with tax and crazy shipment charges.
By the way what laptop are you considering, I'm looking at any Clevo D470K. Whether its Sager, Hypersonic etc.
Good luck!
