Help Donnie Convince Parents for Cash!

post #1 of 10

I'm bored. I decided to write some reasons/ideas to my parents on why they should fork over cash for me for a cursed alienware.. here's my very sketchy idea document; {excuse the big words, i'm trying to sound smart }

Rough…

Reasons to need this new computer in the 21st century

- The new era of gaming is at it’s climax
- Persue dream of making music
- Get full use out of video camera
- Experience the fullest out of 21st century gaming
- Produce games (mention HL2 SDK) Could actually be a game maker
- “This is the time for a new computer” If I don’t get it, its going to drastically alter my future and financial stability for life
- Could lead to future occupation
- Power Conservative
Blahblahblah More can go here....

Half-Life 2 and it’s relation to science

The day MC Escher released in 1988 his genius book, ‘A Brief History of Time’, has relation to the game, Half-Life 2. Blahblahblah More can go here....

Half-Life coinsides with science with precision physics. Half-Life 2 includes many spectacles of science, including; biotechnology, and radioactivity, which later implies to mutations. There’s even an occasional time travel. Video games are more than entertainment.
Blahblahblah More can go here....

Half-Life 2 will continue my trek of programming. Upon the programming, I would be working with physics, etc. {Bring up SDK}

So uh, what other reasons could I provide the parentals?

Look man, this is what I said to convince my parents to pay for what I couldn't.

1) I'll pay you back as I get the money
2) It's about time I get a computer of my own, so I'm not using the family computer
3) I am looking at a career in the game industry so I need a poweful machine
4) I'm young and a major expense this early will be able to found my financial stability sooner rather than later and help give my credit an early boost.

I hope those help out a bit.

MC Escher died in 1972.

It's Stephen Hawking.

I'm sure your explanation will work until you explain that you need 3000 dollars

Thats exactly what I did to pay off my $2K Comp. Working 30 hours a week at age 15, bussing tables, doing dishes, and making milkshakes...

Well worth it for my alienware...Even though it is not here yet.
