5660 turning on by itself at night

I know, I'm crazy right? Well it's happened on two occasions. 5660 is on suspend, lid shut and it turns on by itself at like 3 or 4 a.m.! I thought about whether I did it in my sleep, but it's unlikely as the lid was shut.

I asked my friend if it was a virus, and he said unlikely, but apparently you can set it in your bios, which i have no idea how to do. Anyone have this issue?

Turning itself on at 3am sounds like the task scheduler is set to run something at that time and wakes up the unit to do so. Have you checked task scheduler? Also, when you are closing the lid at night, do you turn it off, then close it, or just close it and put it into sleep mode?

task schedule

looks like I have three items, but they are all during the day, symantec, norton and roxio update. I suspend my laptop within windows...could it be a virus? It's kind of creepy.

my guess is that you have a program that you have installed. The time you installed it is when it turns on at night, becuase my guess is that it automatically checks for updates once a day, or every 24 hours since it was last installed

Yah you're probably right, man it sure scared me because it only woke me up twice on two very separate times.

What is happening is your computer is synching itself to Microsoft's secret servers located in a deserted part of Arizona. Many dont know this, but Microsoft is planning a global attack on the world. With its influence in 85% of the worlds computers, it would be relatively easy to instantly own 85% of the worlds technology.

Beware of the glowing red dot on your computer. Its watching you!
