Laptop (CL-56) sound card

So i recently got my CX-5 from hypersonic and proceeded to install all the drivers and whatnot. Once I finally transfered my Mp3s to the computer and started to play them I noticed that sound was only coming from 2 of my 4 speakers and the base unit. I have logitech speakers (4 speakers and 1 base). I played around with my sound settings and i still couldnt fix the problem. Would anyone know if the basic sound card in these laptops doesn't handle surround sound? Also how hard would it be to upgrade the sound card?

P.S.- I was also playing Counter Strike on the new computer to test its gaming capability. I have a Radeon 9700 128mb card with 1g of ram and the game was very pixalated. I tried to adjust the setting in the Half Life config. but it doesnt seem to help the pixalation. Would anyone know what to do?

Thanks for all your help

No, it doesn't handle surround sound, and no, you can't upgrade it.

If you require surround sound, you'll have to purchase an external soundcard, such as the ones from Creative.

Maybe you could splice the stereo wire coming from the laptop and split it for the two inputs on your speaks...
