computergeeks.com is selling a 10 bay atx case/420 watt power supply with dell keyboard and mouse...all for a paltry $28. is this too good to pass up? staring next monday i'm taking a pc upgrade and maintenance class and i want to build my first wintel box for my own use outside of class. not looking for the ultimate in quality parts in this first system, as i plan on donating it to my father when complete.

here's the link

thanks for any advise!

Looks like a winner, but take the warning about the power suppy and AMD processors seriously. They are VERY touchy in memory and power supplies.

Took two different brands of memory and one power supply to get the Athlon 1700 I built for my wife to work correctly. And I was using an ASUS motherboard for her system

Been there and toasted that.....

As long as the unit has the P4 connector you should be good to go.

Good luck with your wintel box.

Hey man, that looks good. I am an Athlon man myself on the desktop side, but a case plus power supply for that price is quite the deal.

Here's a little something extra for you. I saw this on dealnews.com. When you go to buy that, enter in the coupon code "GEEK0207" and you will receive a free black usb keyboard and black optical mouse. Not too bad of a deal....

Case + 420 watt PS + usb keyboard + optical mouse for under 30 bucks. Sounds good to me. Enjoy!

dealnews/dealpc/dealmac/dealram is an incredible suite of a website.

I've been pretty happy with Computer Geeks as well. Of course it doesn't hurt to only live about 15 miles from them. Someday when I'm actually home during a weekday I'll stop by there and post a report on how they are in person.

The funny thing was I found them on the web and was amazed when the package I'd ordered arrived the next day and I saw their shipping address.
