Well, what can i say, i am 5 or 6 days away from buying and I am still far from choosing my final choice. Well, not exactly, i narrowed it down to these 3 (or 4) options:

Option #1: (just under $1000..but do need $200 in upgrades..asap)
----------
The old familiar R3000z with a 3200+ AMD64 and 440go graphics.

Option #2about $1000 even...need $200 in upgrades..asap)
---------
The R3000t with 128mb M10 and a 3.0ghz P4 w/HT

Option #3: (Staples.com $1,199) (about $100 in upgrades..not a rush)
---------
Averatec 6100 (same uniwill chasis that mwave uses) with a 2.8ghz P4, 40gb hd and a cd-rw/dvd

Option #4: (sam's club $1,299) (about $100 in upgrades..not a rush)
---------
the 6100 with a 3.0ghz w/HT, a 60gb hd and a dvd-/+rw

My thoughs on the Uniwll Overheat problems:
-------------------------------------------
I Will be picking up the Averatec in a local store anyhow (unlike the mwave w/the amd64) so if the heat is trully an issue, i can always take it back.
-------------------------------------------

So, whats your bet? 1 2 3 or 4? Best bang for very little buck.

ok, i just configured the T to go out the door with the same exact specs as the 6100 from sam's and after all the rebates it will cost me $1296.26 so even with a dvd burner, cheaper....hmm...alright..and now that i take off all the BS options i dont need (the dvd burner)...my price for the T will be $1215.05 (after $100 coupon, $100 mail-in and 5% edu). Guess the compaq is a better bang for the buck.

I know that it comes with a 4200rpm hd, but what speed is the ram? and how noticable is the jump from pc2100 to pc2700
