Yep, I do have the magazine somewhere in the House, This computer was definately reviewed. It's an american magazine Pocket Pc Life, but went bust a cuple of year ago, so now I work for www.pocketpclife.co.uk
it's a website that deals with pda's. The magazine reviewed anything portable, because of too many reviewers the boss went bankrupt along with other things too, no one was buying their mags, pile of piss when it was the end. The computer looks exactly the same as the A30's today, but with a different colour scheme, Black underhousing, black keyboard & top cpu housing, silver framed mouse with black pad, silver button console board inc. power button, internet button toshiba con button and tv out button, Lcd frame is black with blue toshiba logo and metallic blue lid with silver logo. The computer ports are, com port, 3 usb, VGA monitor, TV monitor s-video, parrallel port, modem 56k & ethernet port, digital out (red led like ps2), and 2 firewire. Why the computer lasts this long, cause it has a 12 cell lithium ion + removable media bay which housed another battery but only 6 cells. I did not upgrade the processor, the processor is not like the acer 521 tev which was basically a chip, no this computer has a chip moulded onto a board that slots into the computer with no screw fittings, also strange this computer has 2 fans 1 blowing in the other blowing out. Using a T8 screw driver you can remove the processor panel or the wifi lan panel. I guess toshiba was really nice at the time, but our mag was a little toshiba and sony biased
But still I say what i have here. I have a Ram Upgrade NOT the processor upgrade. Over this computer is a nice machine with 1 fault overheating wifi. Sound it Karman Harman, the bass is nicely tuned but not as you would expect in a hifi it sounds more like creative's trave speakers. This computer came with 3 removable drives also for us to review, dvd-cdr cheap model, dvd-r mid pricing, Dvd-r + Floppy + 6 cell battery Executive model... strange but true. That's why I wanted to see if there was any ways of putting customisation to this thing, like a light, cpu fan lights, and all that. Pitty it lost it's digital readouts like the older toshibas. A30- 920 also had a card reader built in, It also weighs 4.4kg which is not for the average business man, I think this computer was a computer replacement. The power light lights up too, when you recieve email through out look the Internet button flashes blue. It does have IR but Not bluetooth... Strange machine. Hope this covered all your questions?
