that's a great game assuming you can get into a regular group that goes through the campaign together as a group and no one is "cheating" by going to level up servers and such

I'm easily the most "Pimp-slappable" in our group. I feel like the bride of Mike Tyson.

What's gonna happen to our notebooks graphic cards after the 9800? Since there not going to make anymore, do we have to buy a whole new AW notebook?? Anyone know?

With the announcement of the 9800m and the 9700m not even available for us to purchase, should i wait for the 9800m or scramble 2 get one of the probably low stock 9700m's when it finally is released?
There is no proof that the 9800m will ever be available...so you might end up waiting forever. Might as well get the 9700 IF it's finally released.

hey diesel you must are a genius!! your going to all these different forums and learning about all the different gaming notebooks. No wonder you brought the only upgradeble notebook out right now.we need to all follow your lead. Maybe we would all have 9800 if would clear our minds and stop being fan boys.

Let's all take a deep breath and back away from this thread. Let me reiterate that I LOVE my Area-51m. It is by far the best lappie I have ever had and as it stands it can handle just about any game (Doom3 and HL2 we'll see). I am upset in the fact that I think AW has been handling things all wrong and I feel they have acted wrong, but let us not forget that it is too early to pass on judgement. I, like Brain stated, hope that the situation is rectified and that something amicable is done. It's just the accumulation of seeing mobo revisions and them knowing about issues with the upgradeability that boils my skin. I would be more understanding if they came out and said well the new cards are running like such and such and we don't know if they will work so we sorry no more upgrades. I would be upset but know where I stood. Now, this is all conjecture and AW might have been geniune and honest thus far and now will do good and roll out this last series of upgrades. At one point I would have been happy with just the 9700, but if the 6800go and 9800 become a reality then AW has a customer for life otherwise as Brain said I will take my business elsewhere and not because AW does not make a kick a$$ product but because the handled the situation inapproriately. So let's all calm down and allow time to be the judge but at the same time place pressure on AW to pull through....It's still very troubling that I still cannot get a 9700 and dell is selling a 256mb 9800...

PS: Nice to see you finally chime in Craig...

Wait for the 9800m. 50-70% improvement
You could do that, but by the time it comes out, there will be something else on the horizon that offers a 50 to 70 percent increase in speed. Technology is ever changing. That is something we have to live with. If you are constantly striving to have the best, you will be dissapointed when something new comes out. My laptop suits my needs perfectly at this point in time and will most likely do so for a good two years...

Does anyone know the difference between the 9700 and nVidia go1000?
9700 better for games go 1000 optimized for 3D programs such as 3DS Max 6, Cinema 4D...........
ewolff, excellente point.
which would be better for a 3D simulation where I can fly anywhere in the world?
Like a flight simulator? Probably the 9700, but I'm no expert.
