Print Spooler is preventing the machine from entering standby

I am getting this strange error whenever I try to go to standby or hibernate and it just started for no apparent reason. It says "The servicce 'print spooler' is preventing the machine from entering standby. Try stopping this service and try again".

I'm running an 8886 w/ windows XP Home and I've turned it off, rebooted it, etc, and it still seems to do it. Any suggestions? I removed all printers too.

Try the following
Administrative tools > computer managment > services
Check the status of Print Spooler
Try to stop it manually.

Try deleting all items in your printers folder
Winnt\System32\Spool\Printers

Try re-installing your printer drivers.
