I've seen mine get up to 58 deg when it's busy.
mine is almost always running at 56-57 degrees. What will that do to my laptop?
my old i8200 runs at about 50-60 C on avg

my ixps runs at about 45-50 on avg (tops out at 60)
well mine runs at 50-57 celcius too ... it will just land up damaging ur components in the long run ( 2 years + ) ...
MIne runs 62 Celcius when its going nuts (Reading a directory with 200000 files) But during gameplay and everything I think it gets to around 63 ?? Never seen it go any higher
post #10 of 25
mine goes to 80-85 degrees celcius while playing games coz of a overheating problem.... but still havent faced any problems with my components .. ive owned this laptop for 1.5 yrs ..

These machines run in the 50s because that what the thermal tables in the BIOS that control the fans are set to. Running in the 50s is fine. I run F@H on mine and it still stays in the 50s, just kicks the fans in a little more often to keep it there.
well mine hit 59 when it not doing anything when i am watching a avi file or a game it hits 65 i have seen it hit 70 .Do you guys think that might be a problem
post #13 of 25
I have never paid attention to this or realize about long term problem. I thought system should be self stabilize with cooling system or it would shut down or freeze.
BTW how you guys look at your current lappy temp while it is running. Much appreciated for any help.

Thanks a bunch. I have tried SiSandra Trial version and can't find where I can look for temp (look at processor/bios/system). Will google
post #16 of 25

I don't see it. Perhaps I need to enable temp monitorting from my Bios. Any thought

I use I8KfanGUI. Need to uninstall and reinstall every once in a while when it stops working, but it's not designed for the 9100 so I'm happy it works when it does. Also lets you control what temps the fans turn on/off/change speed.

Yeah, it does have some probs with the i9100 mostly due to the HT CPU and the chipset... but overall a great program and reliable readings.

According to Intel's site, 3.4 GHz Northwood's should not run any hotter than 68C Max... Here's the URL
