That in itself doesn't mean that notebook has 128mb of video memory, it's just stating that the GPU supports it. You should contact the vendor/manufacturer to verify if that specific notebook has 128mb of video memory installed.

oh, the portable desktop station i'm looking like i'm making fun of it, but that's actually the kind of thing I'm planning to buy in a couple of year, not quite a DTR ( 10 lbs or 20lbs won't make much difference lol ) but something with the screen in it and good internal component for easy LAN and as home computer only. Most likely the card is a 128mb the way they're writing it is confusing though. Always better to check then regret not having.

Acer Notebook Aspire AS1711SCi-V64MB Pentium4 2.8G, 17.0" SXGA TFT, GeForce FX Go5700, 512MB, 80GB, DVD/CD-RW, WLAN, WinXP Pro
Read the bold. Methinks its a 64MB GPU.

but it says it "supports 128mb" so doesnt that mean that if i like add another stick of 512mb RAM it will have 128mb of video RAM?
i dont think that adding the 512 RAM stick will help your Video Ram, they arent connected.

well what do they mean by it "supporting" 128mb of video RAM???
it means there is a go 5700 out there with 128mb of ram on it. But not on this one
post #14 of 14
yep, that system is 64mb but there are 5700s with 128mb. try looking at the mwave uniwill system (or Averatec 6xxx) for a cheap and powerful DRT solution.
