Hey all, looking for any shots of laptop damage, especially LCD damage, but any will do, cracked hinges, stress cracks on the bottom plastics, missing latches, oozing batteries, and all! Here's a few nice examples.

Thanks!

laptop disasters

I used to have a large collection. Great for making Dell training material. Techs just don't understand sometimes when lcd damage or malfunction is described by a customer. Like the following . Customers call it "washed out" and it looks great, but not an LCD issue! Looks like it got run through the dryer too many times :P

Did you throw that at a wall or run over it or something? I would die if that happened to my laptop.

haha it looks as if it got flattened by a steamroller

Flockey86... do you really get 9 hours from your dual batt 600m??? Thats awesome!
There are no more steamrollers. They are now called "asphalt compactors," "compactors," or "rollers." And they are NOT powered by steam.

*weakly* I'm kidding...

Would you like to see what happens when a laptop is flattened by a roller?
Yes. I have always wondered what would happen . . .

It's not a Dell, but it's worth posting.

I got a new laptop in 1996 and I didn't need the old 1993 one I had anymore, so I gave it to my parents. They and my little brother didn't know how to treat a laptop, so the screen was broken.

Here's a thumbnail:

A few other pictures could be found at:

I'm a bit too careful with computers for me to break them. I wish I had taken pictures of that girl's PCMCIA socket when she had a card sticking out of it and put it in her backpack card side down. She blamed the people at work for that, and we had to buy her a comparable laptop on eBay for her stupidity.

I got a C640 put on my desk the other day with a screen that looked like Kaine's only it had spider cracks all over the left side. It looked like someone shot it with a ball bearing or something right in the middle on the left of the lcd. The guy said he "just opened it up and found it that way" . The corner near the fan was also cracked to high hell and 'the page up' and '~' keys were missing.

Laptop Disasters

Here's a few more shots. They are all of the same system from several angles. This is what happens to an LCD at 30,000 feet in an unpressurized cargo hold.

Oh and that system isn't wet or anything! It's all perfectly dry... can't be wiped off or anything. What you see is behind the front glass!

Is it stuck like that now, or is that while you were in the plane?
