Linux on Ferrari3200

I am thinking about installing linux on my ferrari. I hear that Fedora Core 2 for x86-64 works well with AMD64. Has anyone had any luck with linux on their ferrari? Tips, tricks, recomendations? heh

Not sure, but I think the only problem is getting a driver for the wifi card. I haven't tried it myself yet though.

Not the greatest experience.

Hi PangYu,
I tried both Fedora Core 2 for x86-64 and Suse 9.1 for x86-64 but not with good results. The Broadcom nic drivers are installed and initialized but do not work. It actually causes the system to slow down to a crawl (30 seconds for a right click to work). Once I disabled the nic the system was fine. I have not tried compiling new or different nic drivers yet. Other than this I noticed there were no wireless drivers and the sound worked during install but not after. I only tried both Linux versions for 1/2 a day then returned it to Windows due to needing to use this sweet laptop for a trip. I would also like feed back from other Ferrari owners on his or her experience with 64 bit Linux.

I'm installing Core 2 on my 3200 now, we'll see how it goes.

The bootloader doesn't even show up, it just boots Windows like normal. I just deleted the Linux partition and created it again so Windows can recognize it. Probably won't even try it again unless it's on my desktop.

Here's a full test report of Gentoo Linux/AMD64 (2004.2) on the Acer Ferrari 3200:
