When i installed the new catalyst drivers on my new 5670 the resolution seems to reset to 640x480 when restart the machine.

Also i am getting some yellow lines going across the screen when i open windows like little dot'd lines, any ideas on what woudl cause this.

I have dx9.0a and 3.4 same yellow problem occruing with the last set of drivers.

Any help would be appreicated

I seem to have found why I was getting lines i reduced the video acceleration in the display options one level, which disables cursor and bitmap accelerations.

But i would like to move it back up again any idea to fix this issue.

Also the resolution still resets to 640x480 on reboot atm

With the Cat 3.4 drivers loaded, mine resets to that low 640 by 480 res each and every time I restart my computer. I fixed mine though. I rolled back to 3.2 lol.

Who else is having problems with 3.4? Let us know.

I was the first to post about this yesterday on another thread.

I am facing the same thing as you guys are on the 5670, I thought I was alone on this problem. I also am experiencing problems with my second display (LCD-TV).

Once I reboot, my taskbar/systray is moved from the Sager to the lcd-tv, but the icons stay intact.
The resolution on the second display are saved though, but not on the 5670, resets back to 640X480.

Wonder why 5660 users are not seeing this problem, guess the 64 mb version of the 9000 card is working just fine.

This really sux, cause there are 3 fixes from the change log for the 3.4 drivers, that I needed badly and have been waiting for.

I hope they address this, or maybe Sager can release a set with a fix, who knows

We should merge this discussion with this thread because I feel like I'm seeing double (at 640x480 ).

Have tried multiple different settings and magical spells and I still am unable to convince my laptop to boot up with a good resolution using the new Cat 3.4 drivers.

It seems that whether you have the 64mb or the 128mb Radeon 9000 in your Sager, they both have the same chip type (0x4C66).
I looked in the .INF files of the new Catalyst 3.4 drivers and found that our chip type is not listed. It is listed in the 3.2 drivers, which might explain the low-resolution display at bootup - the 3.4 drivers weren't meant for us.

But I don't care, I'll live with having to adjust the resolution each time I boot up. Gotta have that 3.4 action going on!

I find the 3.4 drivers to make the display look a bit better.. almost like there's more contrast and color. It's noticeable enough that I don't mind changing the resolution when I boot. Though I'd love a fix

3.4 Catalyst drivers

has anyone gotten the 3.4 drivers to work correctly? I think mine installed correctly and the computer identifies it correctly. But the resolution whenever i restart is always at 640/480. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

To dynamically change the 640x480 res to your preference on reboot\signon:

1. Get the Cat3.4 drivers download from http://www.omegacorner.com.
2. Extract the drivers and\or start the install but abort it before it finishes (assuming you don't want to use these drivers).
3. Go to C:\Program Files\Radeon Omega Drivers v2.4.43\MultiRes and install the MultiRes utility.
4. MultiRes is a SysTray app from which you can do a quick change, like the ATI app or many others, BUT.....
5. MultiRes also has a res change command line capability, and, since it's in the registry to run on start up .....
6. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
7. Set MultiRest to look like this: "MultiRes"="C:\\Program Files\\MultiRes\\MultiRes.exe /1600,1200,32", or whatever your res preference is.
8. There's a MultiRes help file in Start\Programs for further info.
9. The PC will reboot to 640x480, then after signon and running the app it will dynamically change to your preference.

See this thread for further info.
