Mitac 8050 DVD-R Driver

I got my DVD-RW from Hypersonic today after they did not include it in my system to begin with.

I ordered the "2X DVD-R/W Drive w/ DVD Recording Software"

The drive that they sent me is a Mats h i t a UJ820-S

It shows up in Windows as a DVD-RAM drive. They didn't send me any kind of disk.

Anyone else who owns a Mitac with a DVD-R/W
1)What brand and model drive is it?
2)What driver do you have? And if it is upgraded where did you find it?
3)Did hypersonic send me something wrong for it to be listed as a DVD-RAM where I ordered a -R as it is very compatable as opposed to the DVD-RAM drives?

Thanks in advance for your help

No one has a Mitac 8050 with a DVD burner?

Maybe it can burn ram and -r discs. If you have installed it, and if you have nero you can put in a disc and check with nero infotool. There you will get what kind of formats your dvd drive can handle. And what formats it can write in.

I looked in nero infotool and all formats were selected. Then i called Hypersonic to ask if they wanted their old drive back. I also asked them what drive they sent me. I got the 4x DVD+/- R/RW/RAM drive that is offered with the CX5. A lot better than the 2x -R !
