The Asus M5

This would be a limited edition system....Under the Asus name.... With the 2 year global warranty that Asus provides.

White chassis
1.7ghz Dothan
Intel Pro 2200 b/gi
Seagate 40gb/5400rpm w/8mb cache
768mb of Kingston ddr333 performance ram (256 onboard, 512mb microdimm)
The rest would be the standard M5 components....

However I need to know...

If you would be interested in these systems would you prefer a faster processor, more ram, bigger or faster hd, or other things.

If so please reply with your opinion.

Hey i'm checking out the same system for my sis. She'll be getting it with a 1.5ghz Banias or Dothan if available, 512mb ram, and 40gb 5400rpm HD.

Hey you said Intel 2200 under your config, doesn't it already come with a wireless 802.11b adapter/card??

and i'd probably go with a 40gb or 60gb at 7200rpm. Processor seems fine. Everything else looks good.

Edit: where you thinking about buying it from?

I am actually asking to get feedback on what products and configs should be offered by Asus

One suggestion: Minimum 3 hours battery life!!! The M5N's putrid battery is the only reason I didn't buy it.

White would be nice.

CPU is fine.

For the hard drive you really should put in the Hitachi 7K60 60GB/7,200RPM.

So many people like to upgrade to that drive, why not just put it in there in the first place?

Also, a wide-viewing angle screen would be nice (like the Sony XBRITE or Fujitsu Crystal View). It doesn't have to be glossy, but wide horizontal and vertical viewing angles are becoming more common in machines of this size and screen quality is a big selling point for many people.
