I just bought the VM B50 Note Magix Ultra and thought I'd post my experience since a learned a lot from these forums. Overall I am happy with my purchase from VM. Like most people I looked around a lot. When I ordered it I almost regretted it when the twinhead review came out. But I love this computer. I ordered it on July 1 and it was shipped on July 26 and delivered July 28. Not too shabby considering I ordered it with the black paint option. Shipping was free. The system came nicely packaged and was perfect when I started it up. The paintjob was also perfect. There are no dead pixels that I can detect.

Documentation was sparse but I never read it anyway. They didn't put a lot of extra garbage on windows xp and plus it came with all the updates. Everything has been running smoothly for the last 2 days. Its probably like every compal so I wont go into all the details but everything runs fast. Overall good company though there have been a lot of complaints on their outsourced service company but hopefully i wont need it.

VM Notemagix Pentium M 2.0, 1 gig Ram.

Update on my new notebook:

So far so good. Everything is working in great condition. The software bundled with the Velocity Micro computer isn't that great. It comes with Ulead DVD moving making stuff, Nero express, Win DVD, Word Pefect, driver disks and drive clone software. They made a cd supposedly with the notebook manual but it included some ancient photo software instead. The paintjob holds up pretty nicely and gets a lot of compliments. Fingerprints show though. Velocity did a good job installing all the software drivers and assembling it together, even the easy buttons work. It comes with the 4.5 catalyst drivers which work fine. DVDs look very nice. The screen like all the screens is nice if you get the sweet spot. The vertical viewing angles arent great but all you need to do is move the screen. The notebook only gets warm around the CPU at the upper right hand corner but not uncomfortable.

I installed all the software recommended on the forums to tweak windows: including stylexp, tunexp, Tuneup utilities, adware, spybot, sypware blaster, shrink dvd. Surprisingly the shrink dvd lets you copy the files to the harddrive instead of the iso image and both the included software dvd players and windows media player can play it fine without a virtual drive mounter.

http://dvdshrink.org for DVD Shrink... Best program available for copying DVDs... If you've got a reader and a burner seprate, you can copy from DVD to DVD with Nero 6.
