The case near the hinge of my screen is slowly cracking on my 5680. I use my laptop on my lap (with a coolpad) often, which means in the past I was adjusting the screen for viewing angle regularly. Probably too regularly.
The plastic over the hinges on both the right and left side is cracking, up to about an inch and a half on the right side, and still about half on inch on the left side.
Since my laptop is less than a year old, I'm pretty concerned that it's not going to survive my planned 2 year upgrade cycle.
I was also considering a motherboard replacement if Sager came out with one that had a mobility 9800 on it. But if the rest of the computer isn't going to last, why bother?
Can I get replacement plastic? Any tips? It seems my hinges are pretty tight. Are they too tight?
