5700 performance (farcry) - Page 2

funny how when they first released the 5700 I did a 5600/5700 comparision and nobody noticed.

replacing it is easy, I took my gpu out the day I got it just to see if I could (I never told AW that...)

I mod my own drivers for the 5700 becuase NV doesn't release mobile drivers very often, and or AW doesn't keep up. I am running 61.76's with Sm3.0 enabled (I know the NV3x suposedly doesn't support it).

I mean to reply back to this thread, I am running FarCry on "MEDIUM" at 1280 X 1024 and it runs fine, 1600 X 1200 is a bit choppy at times, espically when there is any sort of fog on the screen.

Too bad AW doesn't doesn't give you a few $$ off if you send them the old card back. They could perhaps recycle it and furthermore it wouldn't fetch anything on Ebay if at all.

Nah all you get to do is OC it to destruction and get to say PWNT!

That actually sounds like fun, I may try it! See how far I can OC'it before it melts down. My other thought was removing the custom components from Nvidia and using their edge connector for another card. I have a mill spec cert for board work and I'm pretty good at electronics.

Time-Pilot, your mission if you choose to accept it:

1. find a NV 6800.
2. find a way to get it to work in the AW GPU module

On another note I finally re-installed adrnalizer today and OC'ed the new 5700, the first pass pulled an impressive 3642, see attached:

What were your settings, and how did you get around the Powermizer power-saving feature?
Settings are 422 engine clock, and 687 on memory. V-sync is disabled, fog table is disabled, everything else is off like AA and AF. And I don't have any issues with the powermiser thing, this was not done on battery.
