its about a 6 or 7 C drop. i'm not sure what that equals in f but its pretty impressive to me. Also the time it takes to drop drom 62 to 47 is about a minute now. I know it was longer before maybe 2 or 3 minutes.

6c = 10.8f
7c = 12.6f

Wow! This stuff is awesome. Next time I build a pc I will be using it for sure. I wonder if it can be applied to the gpu? I'm not going to risk that yet unless someone else successfully does it.

Would this affect your warranty?

I doubt it. This has been covered before in other threads. And I did contact pctorque about this. They said they couldn't do it, but I could do it as long as it didn't mess up anything. So far everything is working.

im not sure it it happened before i applied the as3 because i never tried counter strike

but everytime i try to play now after a while it freezes up on me the whole computer...im not sure if its a problem with my internet or its because of heating up?

its starting to get to me now and im thinking i might return it

you did use as3 rather than as5 that might make a difference. As for counterstrike try a different video drive. The omegas 4.5 give me good results. -my idle temperature has dropped to 43 C! This is when its not in use though.

Mayaman, it looked like the CPU was in a socket, from your pictures. Can you verify this? I thought I read earlier today that this system had a soldered CPU.

Yes it was in a socket. There was a metal release latch on the left hand side of it.

not yet. i don't really play cs. i play dod though. i will download that eventually. the new cs source (when its out) or condition zero should run without a problem.
post #174 of 624

I will download dod sometime soon (same engine) so if that doesn't work well on the 4750, then return it if its worth doing that. For what it does it does well, and it runs maya ple really fast too. Fastest install I have ever done.

The hl engine wasn't really designed for xp. I could never play hl correctly on my desktop because of xp.
post #178 of 624
i used to play it on my desktop with xp no probs :S this thing i dont get why it crashes..im thinking its heat cuz it crashes when the fans get up to full throttle...
post #179 of 624
Mayaman those new temps are much much better... I wonder too if its possible to AS5 the GPU that should help with OC'ing if it can be done. Gary, sorry your having problems with yours..the 4.5 drivers are suppose to be pretty stable...Maybe see if that game has a trouble shooting forum and see if others are having the same problem?

thinking i'll try it out on my desktop 2nite and c if it works properly there..
