Mayaman2's Big Review of the 4750 - Page 20

by the time the 939 pin is out, I am sure the x800 mobility will be out which should have 4 more pipes than the 9800! That's going to be a powerhouse. I hope they start using liquid cooling by then. Or something radically different.

So what is everyone's plan on upgrading/replacement when the 4750 starts to become obsolete?

DOOM 3 and FarCry and Half Life 2 (I'm sure it will run great), I hope I will have time to game that much during the school year. I guess I could get addicted to coffee.

I plan to keep this beast. It's awesome. So what if it gets a little hot, I am willing to make that tradeoff. The heat that you can actually feel (external heat) isn't bad at all. It will be great for the winter at least. As for power wise this is slightly more powerful than my desktop (ati radeon 9500 pro with 8 pipes). The processor is a lot more powerful than my 2.4 ghz p4 in my desktop.

Keep the laptop, once it starts showing it's age, build a kick@$$ desktop using all the new standards/tech coming out (BTX cases, 64bit, PCI-e etc)

That's what I am going to do.

He he. I knew I would make it hard for you. And I forgot to mention the temperature should continue to drop according to the as5 people. It takes 200 hours to for the as5 to get to full working potential.
how long do as5 stay on the cpu core?

Thanks for the pics
