I believe I saw in another thread that you must divide by 30. I think the older laptop's BIOs read the fan speeds low and i8kfangui had to multiply by 30 to get the correct number.

The i9100 and xps BIOs already multiplys by 30 and I8kfangui also multiplys by 30. Run a diagnostic on one of your fans. It tells you the speed under high and low condtions. 2100 ish rpm under low and 4300 ish under high. Makes sense with my i8kfangui readings.

It's just a calculation error in fanGUI, they obviously can't spin that quickly. I don't know how much exactly you must divide or take from it though I am afraid. 30 does sound familiar though...

Thanks for the ratio...30 sounds about right. My old thermaltake could get up to 6000, and it sounds like a vacuum cleaner when it does.

and for all you import lovers out there.....it's all about T O R Q U E

No for the import lovers its all about looks (take that evo)

For us muscle car lovers its all about torque.

Horsepower sells cars, Torque wins races.

Axiom: Evos not only have looks, AND torque, they also have amazing power : weight ratios, and amazing tunability. And more importantly, Evos/Sti's arent just about speed, theyre more about handling. Try to take some of the turns that are cake for an Evo or STi with a muscle car, and ur gonna be spinning/flipping off the road

you know I'm just talking trash evo.

of course

I think the Hummer (the REAL Hummer not the GM-branded one) wouldn't flip over... unless you actually got it going fast enough to make the cones look blurry. Take that, Evo! Hummer has torque, HP, "handling," tunabilty (WTF?), and power:weight ratios.

I'm just kidding too... never buy a Hummer over a sports car. Unless you want one.

Evos rock, Tommi Makkinen is my hero. Evo, you forgot the mention the awesome 4 wheel drive, second only to Audi.

Evo's just mad because he knows a Focus SVT could beat his precious Evo...

if i spin around in a circle, i can get like 65-70 rpm, assuming i don't get dizzy and have to sit down....which happens when i spin around for a while
