Don't get what's the point of asking for our opinions while you're not going to listen to it...

Come on folks,

Any time someone posts saying "have you heard about Super Notebook Corporation, I've heard that they are they absolute best", you KNOW they are just advertising surrupticiously.

Go look at the post by the guy pimping xVx Computers or whatever, which is obviously a scam. At least this guy isn't stupid enough to keep posting the link to the company, and then the link doesn't even work. This guy is a bit smarter but it is still pretty translucent, he only mentions one company, doesn't even say what type of computer he is looking for, and then proceeds to defend a company that he SHOULD have no affiliation with.

The guys only four posts are pimping one company no one has ever heard of, he says they are the best priced, then when people throw it in his/her face that they are way overpriced he starts saying they are "hand made"....wow.

i haven't been here this long but what i have learnt is that all companies spout out is bull, they are practically all resellers. They make their money from paint jobs and customer service offers. There is NO (and i mean NO) difference between them other than that.

Now if you going for the paint job or the service fair enough, but other than that its just burning money.

100% of these laptops come from some assembly line in taiwan. Someone just buys the chassis in bulk and just adds the components.

some pictures there, the penguin one i mentioned is on the second page, i remember reading a full review from the guy who owned that one...i think on the voodoo forums. tell me those things arnt beutiful looking, again if i had the money i would buy from them for the paintjob, and the warrenty. the support shipping times and costs make a big deal espicially since normally youd be without your computer for about a month for most problems from most sellers.

i dont know why your constantly mentioning alienware with falcon-nw, to me the two arn't even comparable. alienwares are imo incredibly ugly, and from all the horror stories iv read have sh***y support.

yeah just buying a sager from sager is of coarse a better deal, but if you had the money who cares?

and to whom mentioned the "mom and pop" computer stores, iv never been to a nice one. they seem to try to rip people off genrally alot more than places like best-buy. and they dont tend to have high performance systems at whatsoever. maybe its different in your neighborhood, but here in new york thats all iv seen.

that penguin one does look kind of cool, the fragbook and the radeon one looks cool too.

I find this hard to believe... But anyways, I'm just looking for the best notebook, including the SUPER DUPER paint job, warranty, customer service, everything... AND - I'm not worried about paying for it. for the "Local ma and pa shop" comment - this notebook would cost the same if not more from my local computer store, along with the fact that they'd have to ship it somewhere else for service, and not have a single part for it in stock.

I'm looking at the Fragbook TL, 2.0 Dothan, 1G DDR, 128M Radeon 9700m, 60G 7200RPM drive, extra battery, 2 ac adapters, BG wireless, 3 year warranty. I configured the DR for about the same price w/ a 2.8Ghz P4, but I'd prefer a laptop that's portable, vs one that has to be plugged in. A friend of mine has an Alienware DR type notebook, and I laugh at him all the time b/c it has to be plugged in... if you're going that route, get a SFF PC and bolt an LCD on the top.. LOL

Still looking for someone that owns one of these notebooks?

Anyone had any experience with Sager warrantys or AW?? Let me know

You dont need to find someone that owns a Fregbook, just ask 50% of the forum here about thier CL56. Its the same thing from a hardware standpoint. I see very few complaints about the CL56, it is definatly a good system.

Honestly though, if you are spending the cash you might want to look at the Voodoo M:380. It is based on a Clevo ODM that a good amount of ppl are waiting on sager to offer. If you like widescreen, its the premier T&L right now.

I emailed FNW a week ago asking him about the TL and he stated that they were looking into some revisions within the next couple months. I still have the email laying around here if interested.

Not looking for widescreen... Thanks for your input though.

Read and learn something about the differences between OEMs and ODMs

so what, even though they are all just rebadged clevo's or whatever, if someone has the money (around 4k) they are much mroe likely to spend it on AW or FNW than a freakin' sager cuz those pc's are the ones people dream about, not Sagers !! Personally, for value I'd recommend Dell or Acer Ferrari 3200, but when you get the big bucks, there's no reason not to go with the big boys like FNW and AW. I kno u can get more value and shizz with the sager, but that doesn't rly matter once u r able to afford a FNW or AW.

Did you know what brand of car more millionaires drive than any other?.....

A Ford. Do you know why? They became wealthy by not squandering their money on flashy things they didn't really need.

Why are you judging BooST by what kind of laptop he wants to buy? If he wants to buy a laptop with a flashy paint job for 4K, what's the big deal. Sure it may perform exactly the same as one with similar components but it will look a hell of a lot nicer. Everyone likes to something outragiously priced but awesome looking once in a while.
He can buy whatever he likes, however, what was the point in asking the forums what we thought if he did not actually want to hear it?

Yet again, I'm still asking for your opinions, even if I don't like them... Has anyone posted links to where I could get a similar notebook for less?? I sure don't remember seeing any.

So, what everyone's telling me is that this is the exact same as a CL-56 with a flashy paintjob, and the other benefits that Falcon offers?
The system you are contemplating IS a CL56, so yes, it's identical to what you can get from a myriad of other resellers minus the flashy paintjob (at the level that FNW offers) and the other benefits. The question really is whether or not those benefits warrant the premium they attach to them.

Yes, technically, the CL56 we're talking about is a debadged Fragbook TL.

If services/looks means a lot to you, by no means, get the Fragbook.

If you want to save some money (which don't seem to be the case), then get the CL56 (debadged Fragbook) from other resellers. Their services might not be as superior as NSW, but technically, you will have the same notebook with the same spec.
