Toshiba M35 Fan

Thread Starter
I was wondering if any owner of the new Toshiba satellite m35 can confirm that its fan is running all the time when the CPU control method is set on fixed. If I change the CPU control method to Auto, the fan cycles (it is on for about 20 seconds and off for about 5 minutes). The fan is quite annoying on both cases. Does this also happen to you? Is there any other setting to make the fan rest more?
Also, what do you think about its keyboard? Isn't it too flimsy and noisy?

Thank you for your input.

Best regards,
Jordi

I think the fan is running on a temperature sensor, and that little annoying sound you hear for 20 seconds is keeping your processor from blowing up. My guess is you can't fix it, but hey, I have a Gateway. I dont know jack about Toshiba's.

Toshiba A30

My computer is different from others, but with a processor P4 HT 3.4, mine is always on, it's a normal thing. You have an option in toshiba console,

1) run toshiba console program (shortcut button middle)

2) double click on power management

3) look for the tap advanced in power management

4) look to the bottom cooling method, that should adjust your computer fan, Keep it on silent, 1 fan turns on it quietly whizzes in the background, medium cooling, is 2 fans at longer intervals about once every 1min, or max mode once every 20 sec. it also matters what speed step you're using, if you choose the yellow light bulb (minimum) and select silent cooling your computer is likely to not have a sound at all. I've tried it, but now I got used to the wizzing fans...
