I'm just about to do the format c: thing #&^@!$
I probably messed around too much with codecs (XVid and Divx etc...) and with TV Studio (HT version from sager support or latest from web site avertvstudio4 or the old one from the CD).
In any case, the laptop won't play DVDs or video clips. You get the first frame and then it freezes...
I uninstalled all codecs, re-installed Direct X 9 (latest from M$) Windows media player with same results. I re-installed the codecs pack from Doom9.org with no results (hoping good codecs would fix "things") So I uninstalled them again. I followed aussie's instructions from this forum on TV Studio drivers installations and...still freezes.
I think there might be a link with TV Studio and mpeg playback of any mpeg files (mpeg 1 or 2)...I don't know...
Please help me avoid the format C: thing !!!
Thanks
Marty
