Ok something is really ****ed up about my sager 8790. It seems to me that (i THINK) whenever i leave my comp in standby.. when i reload.. everything just screws up. Like as soon as i get out of standby.. i get a blue screen.. and when i reboot windows doesnt boot until later it says "ntfs.sys is missing" in bootup.. and when i turn my comp off and turn it back on, windows works again... Heck.. it might not be just from standby.. but it keeps on happening when it come back from standby... Should I return for repair because this is bugging me alot...

oh and it started after i got raid. And yes i am using 2 identical hard drives..

thx for your help.

I wouldn't blame it on just your system yet. I owned an 8887 (1 week) when Hyper-threading came out. When we all updated our BIOS we all started having the same standby (and hibernate) problem. Some were worse than others. It never did get resolved. I now own an 8790 and I let it go into standby 1 time. I had the same problem. I believe it is a Windows/hyper-threading problem. I use an alternate method if I want to put my system in "standby". Go into the Control Panel and drag Power Options into the upper left portion of your start menu, where you start your programs or get to your list of recently used ones. Now you will have it where it is easy to get to. Click on Power Options and set up a new Power Profile. I call mine "Cool down' because I use it a lot after intense games to cool the system down fast. Set the monitor to turn off after 1 minute and the hard drives to turn off after 3 minutes. Set the standby (on all of your profiles) to never. Save your new profile, I can't remember, but you may have to make the changes before you can make a new name. Now, when ever you want to go into standby just use the new profile. It is different than a blank screen saver in that it actually turns the monitor off and shuts down the hard drives. It will draw less power than standard, but more than true standby. However, there won't be any problems with coming back to an active machine.

I Think mine does that too, I kept accidentily hitting the fn + F* key putting it into stand-by and when getting out of it it would reset.... I cant actually replicate it now, not until monday; thats when ups delivers my lappy back to me after a screen replacement. I would say notify SAGER tech support and they possible have an answer or a bios upgrade for that. I love SAGER Tech support, theyre so helpful!!!
