Well just been playing doom 3 on my 9100, spec's in sig. Was worried with the 9700, but i didn't need to be. It auto selected medium detail at 1024x768
shame it didnt let me select widescreen res, but is still all good, pretty, smooth, and more than playable.

Still want an mr9800 tho

overall

Looking good dude. Was expecting to only run at 800x600 @ medium detail, but glad to see it can run up to 1024x768!

what kind of fps are you getting?

also, do you even have an option to run it at widescreen?

If there is a widescreen option or hack i havent found it yet,
and i dont know the console command to display fps, but its smooth
enough, at least 40-50+

Time to google for some commands i think

Wow!!

Thanks for posting these pics. The image quality is awesome! And I was told IQ looks horrible out of the LCD's native resolution

Oh, and I can't wait until August 3rd

To be honest I havent even looked at multiplayer yet. The single player
with its set piece scripting and events is just too stunning at the moment.

I believe though multiplayer is dedicated server only and basically only
a four player deathmatch unless you have a very powerful server and
you are on a lan.

But really, its stunning. Also I tried high detail, and it still runs fine,
ultra detail was a bridge too far though, and needs a 256mb card with much
horsepower. Roll on mr9800.

Interestingly I've been playing FarCry at 1920x1200 with 'medium/high' settings and, apart from a little juddering, had an extremely playable experience. Switching to Linux and, trying best to avoid the inadequacies of ATI's extremely sh!te drivers, Unreal Tournament operates at that resolution at around 55fps, which is very impressive.

But as everyone else intimates, can't wait for the 9800.

weird, no WS support......

What FPS are you getting on it?

(ctrl+alt+~ then com_showfps 1) I am considering purchasing a 9100 and would like to know.

Thanks,
Todd

Grab fraps at Fraps.com I think it is an excellent FPS program with screen capture and all it was so good that I paid to register it. But you can get it for free.

best way to test is to hit ctrl+alt+~ and enter "timedemo demo1". Do two consecutive runs and take the fps number from the second run.

I get 34.3 fps at 800x600, Low or Medium. Oddly, I get 30.4 fps at 800x600 High...I thought the performance impact was going to be a lot worse than that.

I am getting 26.5fps at 1024/768

This game scares the Shiznit out of you.

I have a 3.2ghz 9100 with the 9700 clocked at 499/279 with latest omegas.

nice screen shots...thanx alot man that really helped...1q when is mr9800 coming out??
hmm, I just ran multiple timedemo runs, using the timedemo demo1 test, and I'm only getting 25 fps in 1024

m9700 running at 501 core, 289.5 mem
1024x768 med quality 25.0 fps
1024x768 low quality 25.9 fps
800x600 med quality 36.7 fps

so it sure doesn't seem to make a huge difference when changing from low to medium. Later when I'm done working at work and not playing at work I'll try 8x6 high, and maybe even with a higher mem setting on the 9700.

Wow..only 25+ FPS in single player... Looks like the mr9700 is already past its prime. I want to see how mr9800 does before I decide what to buy. I want to get at least decent FPS on Doom3 and maybe HL2, since many future FPS will use those engines.
