i86 Heat Mod Complete :) Bench - Page 6

Muhahahaha!!!!

I have finally found time to complete the heat mod and have done some testing. While benching, I did not get GPU temps to get close to the 75C line on fangui. I was using Aquamark 3 as it is a nice quick bench and not too stressful. When I get a bit more time, I will do the 3dmarks.

Best core run I managed was 467 with no artifacts, which got me just over 26k. Best mem was 330 which achieved about 22400. Note that these speeds were achieved with the alternate setting at stock (ie. core 337.5/243).

Could not get a run with both levels maxed. Best combined score I achieved was at 452.5/303 and achieved 27,681.

Anyway I will now test these settings on 3dmark and see if I can crack 3600 and 13000 respectively.

Cheers

Okay. Finished 3d testing and have obtained the max results I could. With both of these best results, there were some small artifacts, esp. on the nature test in both, but otherwise these ran stable. I do not regularly run my machine overclocked however and esp. not at these speeds.

3dmark 03 3718, 615CPU @ 439/317

3dmark 01 12889 @ 432/317

Cheers.

Wow very very impressive noids on this and have you tested your 317 memory on a memory intensive app such as Doom 3? I actually recommend (same with Aero) that the stable memory speed for everyday use should hang around the 285 mark. 300-310 will typically give artifacts in Doom 3 so far that I've noticed. Let me know what you think and what comes up on your end.

Also,

I may start a new thread on this but this is in regards to the Catalyst 4.8 drivers. This has been tested on all versions of the 4.8 set and on the i9100. If I try to overclock the gpu or vram at any rate whatsoever, i'll receive small windows glitches and worst, the entire screen covered in a colorful array of squares as I come out of hibernation. This does not happen whatsoever on any previous version of Catalyst and I've also tested many overclocking tools (both ATI Tool .21 and RADLinker) and I still have the same results. Could this be dealing with the X-series by ATI that run at lower clock speeds than the 9xxx series or a programming glitch by ATI?

Sad part now is whether to go through the pain of going back to 4.7 or keeping 4.8 at stock settings. (Since 4.8 preforms much much better in the gaming world then the previous releases from what I've benched)

Any similar problems from people are welcome too.
Hopefully this will be fixed soon

Cheers,

GMCloud,

I just went to your site to order a heat mod kit and saw they're Out of Stock. Any idea when you'll have more ready to go?

Hey CJ,

Well I'm actually out of stock because the person who cut the copper plates left to college (while I commute...) and I'm working out a vendor solution if I can. I actually do have one plate left that I personally cut but it is unpolished (unless you're me who cares about the looks even though it's never seen, then this could be an issue, lol). If you're interested let me know because I have all but the plates in inventory but I'm trying hard to figure out a solution to this.

Best Regards,
Garrett/GMCloud
