Re Dell Drivers
The reason the Dell drivers work differently are because Dell modifies the drivers to work specifially for your machine, they add power saving features and code for the Dell Media direct and other services that are only supplied on Dell Machines. Don't listen to these guys who just like to spout off without knowing what they are actually talking about. Experience is a great teacher but not if you don't actually do your homework first. There really is a reason that it takes 2 to 3 years of college education to get certified as a PC technician. There are some things that "experience" just doesn't cover if you don't have the background to fit the rest of the peices into the problem. Yes they all do great on there own, but only while everything goes the way it is supposed to, when it doesn't the best they can do is ask other's what they did and how they solved it and then try to "mimick" them. Being a real technician is a little bit more involved than that.
