I just got my uniwill 258ka0 and when I unplug it it goes to 800mhz ok whatever powernow does that. But when I plug it back in it stays and 800mhz and I cant get it to go back unless I restart. How do I fix this?

Make sure you have the latest (May 2004) CPU drivers from AMD.com. This was a bug with the older drivers.

I have the same problem. Check out this topic:

Unfortunately, the patch didn't seem to work for me. I'm waiting for a reply there.

What are you checking it with? CPUZ/CPUID? I downloaded both PowerNow and the new CPU driver from the AMD website...I also used Desktop/Home for my power setting.

It's working. ABS (see link above) said that it's a bug with windows. Right clicking my computer and viewing its properties will always show the 798MHz speed. The AMD Dashbord displays the correct speed.

i tried the patch also. Didn't work

As far as I can tell, the CPU runs at full speed, but Windows is just displaying the incorrent speed.

From the ABS support topic:

Hello Brad,
The windows XP will only show 798MHz only.---this it's windows bug now.
Please download AMDclock from AMD website to check!
It will be 2GHz. We already tested.
thanks!

I think I fixed it if I stop folding when I plug in it works fine. Weird.

Try Power Now! dashboard for checking speed. I like it because all you have to do is move the window around to verify throttling is working. Get it here: http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/...86_964,00.html

Caffe, what sort of battery life do you get out of your machine? And do you know if the optical bay is a standard fit? I'm thinking of getting this machine & putting an LV chip in it..
