i rather have product placement than the alternative, which are fake names. people in RealLife (tm) use corporate products. i'd rather see this reflected in tv and movies instead of the dell logo being taped over on the laptop lid or "Coke" suddenly becoming "Cole", "Sprite" becoming "Sprit", or "Starbucks" becoming "Buckstars". if tom and meg used apple PCs, then so be it. at least it says APPLE and not DAPPLE in an effort to undermine my intelligence.
HOWEVER, it's one thing to have products placed in real life situation, but it's another to have the movie actually feature the product to the point where it's part of the damn plot (like taco bell in that sly stallone movie. judge dredd?)
