i read a lot of reviews before i bought it
and now that i have one i must say it's a very good product.

Lets see....

Do I want to listen to the radio on my iPod? NO
Do I want a mic on my iPod? NO
Do I want to watch .avi's on my iPod? NO
Do I want a color screen? NO (iPod photo if I did)

Battery life........12 is more than enough (I think my G3 gets like 9ish, more than enough)

Do I need a pic viewer? NO (iPod photo if I did)

Whats your point? Who needs all that crap? I use my ipod to LISTEN TO MP3s.
That's it. It is my car stereo, my player in the gym, at the beach, etc. That's all I want. And it is damn sexy. It's functionality and design are the best, by far, imo.

Do you honestly listen to the radio on your HP? I haven't listened to the radio since mp3 cd players came out.

In my opinion, all those extra features are unneeded. I would never use them.

i use the avi feature on long car trips, screw listening to music and staring out of the window when i can watch some family guy episodes. picture mode is useful if you use USBOTG. i used to listen to radio all the time until my favorite radio station was taken off the air (for the chicago people: it was energy 92.7), now i don't any more, but knowing news/traffic/weather reports on the go is useful. when watching movies and pics, color is always better than grayscale (ever wonder why black/white tvs fell out of favor?) design is really in the eye of the beholder. some features that a true audiophile would enjoy that i forgot to mention are Line-Out and Line-In ports, and when giving your friends a listen of what you have, forget sharing headphones, just use the line out as a 2nd jack.

i found a good use for the microphone in class if its a day i can't focus during a lecture, i'd record it and listne to it later.

and a feature any linux user would appreciate: ogg support.

i bought a phone that can play mp3,movies,radio,etc etc..but in the end i wished i only bought an ipod or any mp3 player cause i only listen to mp3..but having all the features is cool but was a waste of money for me..

hmmm, that i-river also has no firewire it looks like. I'd rather get an ipod with firewire if i was in the market for a portable mp3 player.

i rather have product placement than the alternative, which are fake names. people in RealLife (tm) use corporate products. i'd rather see this reflected in tv and movies instead of the dell logo being taped over on the laptop lid or "Coke" suddenly becoming "Cole", "Sprite" becoming "Sprit", or "Starbucks" becoming "Buckstars". if tom and meg used apple PCs, then so be it. at least it says APPLE and not DAPPLE in an effort to undermine my intelligence.

HOWEVER, it's one thing to have products placed in real life situation, but it's another to have the movie actually feature the product to the point where it's part of the damn plot (like taco bell in that sly stallone movie. judge dredd?)
