Will a 12.1 inscreen like make me have to squint my eyes to read stuff and stuff like that. Like would I be dissapointed if I order a notebook with a 12.1 inch screen and it being TO small?

I was so hyped about ordering an Asus S5N, which has a 12" screen. I went to a store to check it out and it was too small for my liking. I am now opting for the Asus M6N.

I hope this helps.

A little, but if you have a 12 inch screen, tell me how you like it, or dislike it....

it depends what you are going to use it for. For applications, Word, office, surfing, etc, it's fine. For playing games, editing photos or anything else, it's a bit small.
As for the squinting, you can always change font size, graphics, etc.

no problems here, i've had my s5ne for a few months now, depends on your vision i suppose. I had a 14" laptop before and the downsize doesn't bother me. just my opinion.

I use my sisters 300m sometimes, its a 12" screen. I've never squinted at it...but I had to bring my head closer to the lcd sometimes

The pros of 12" screen is that generally its very light...

The cons are that it is small and generally battery life sucks (2-3 hrs). I personally will not buy a 12" screen ever after using one...

I have a toshiba tablet with a 12.1. I bought it for portability and that's what it's good at. at first it was kinda small, but I think that no matter what computer you have, if you use it all the time you get used to it. I keep it at 1024x768 and I have pretty good eyes, and I have never had a problem with the size when i'm on the web or emailing or using word. But now that I'm going to be doing more graphics and stuff again, i'm going back to a bigger laptop. it dpends what you use it for.

I think a 12.1" would be better if you plan on doing stuff in-class. A 15" takes up the whole desk and seems rather large. I've seen people in classes using a 12.1" and it just seems so much more convenient. Not enough to buy a second laptop, but if that's your main interest, seems like it would work.

A lot of the people with bad eye sight will tell you that they are TOO small.

I have gone through several laptops with 10 in, 12 in, some 8 inch, and they were all fine for me. In fact, I am currently using a 7.1 inch HPC, and I have absolutely no problems with it. But then again.. I have pretty good eye sight.

You won't have any problems with a 12" screen. That is because 12" screens usually (if not all) have a resolution of 1024x768 which makes the text easy to see. You would have a problem with a screen that size if the resolution was higher. A good example of this is the Sony Vaio Z1. This notebook has a 14" screen but since the resolution is higher than 1024x768 the text is really small. In a notebook like the Z1 I would recomend you look at the screen in person to make sure you like the size of the text before buying. As for the 12" I don't think you will have a problem.

By the way I have a Sony Z505LSK that has a 12" screen and the text can be seen easily. Hope this helps.

Just curious though, don't the 12 inches consume less power than the 14+?

Love the portability....
