Mbox Performance

does anyone knows something about the compatibility between the Mbox and a reason/cubase system, and its performance on a sager? I'm planning to buy a 5670 3GHz, lacie firewire HD and a Mbox to be my mobile studio, and didn't want to quit working on reason/cubase/acid/wavelabs, dispite of the fact that the box come with the Pro Tools LE.

Well... from what I've been told (which may not be 100% correct), you shouldn't have a problem. The MBox works pretty much as a line-in recorder with a couple features (I'm sure you're aware of those features). I really think you should be all set, and you can probably send it back if you don't like it. However, I've been told that www.edirol.com has a product called the UA-5 and is cheaper (about $279.00 at www.audiomidi.com) and does the same exact thing and works with all the known programs, including ProTools 6. You might want to check that out, especially if it's going to save you two hundred bucks.
