certainly reflects what I personally have noticed (after years of firewire and USB 2.0 usage); however, there was a user who posted that USB 2.0 was a bit faster when dealing with one or two very large files.
However, I maintain that: EASE OF USE, and LOW OVERHEAD, as well as overall speed and efficiency must go to FIREWIRE.
Also, like TechTV did in their article (linked above, and herein) they used the 5400rpm Maxtor drives. My personal feeling is that 7200rpm does not make much difference, and 5400 is fine, to; plus you can save a few $$ getting a 5400rpm drive over a 7200, if that option is viable for you.
