Well, I ended up voting with my wallet over this last fiasco of AW's and put my own lanbox together for my clan's online tournaments featuring the new BF2 game.
I selected the following components:Pentium 4 Extreme edition cpu, 2 cores, 2 HT's each, windows 64bit compatible, 2 meg cache
1 gig of DDR2 at 533mhz x two
Nvidea GT 6800\256megs video card
Creative Audigy 2 nx audio card
2 x 160 gig serial ATA 7200rpm 8megs Western Digital hard drives configured for performance(stripe)
LiteOn 16x dual layer, 8.5gig DVD burner
Sony 16x DVD player
19" Flat panel monitor by Viewsonic
Premium 5.1 speaker setup by Yamaha
Windows XP Media 2005 edition OS
Razer Diamondback gamer's mouse, optical, wired
Logitech premium usb keyboard, wired
I spent less than 1500.00 and have warranties on all the individual items. My AW gamers system never looked this good and I am about as happy with my online tourney play as I have ever been. It is fantastic, guys!
Sorry AW, but you just can't lure this guy's wallet with only an empty legend. I gotta play out here, I'm afraid that is something you forgot about when customer service came up, The customer!
btw: I gave my AW lappie that was brand new in March of 2004 to my wife. She uses it for checking her email and the hardest thing it has to do these days is play Spider Solaitaire for her. Three grand to play a game and do duties an old 486\66mhz system with 8 megs of ram and 4 megs of vid ram could do with its eyes closed. Ha ha!
Unfortunetly, the laugh was on me!
