That is the full review. Towards the end you will see the severe whooping that the P4 gets from the AMD64.

The AMD64 3400+, 3500, 3700, 3800, FX all score higher than the P4 3.2Ghz Extreme Edition.

Umm, not to be a bit obvious, but isn't anandtech.com seriously AMD-slanted?

in my book 5fps more isn't noticeable so I dub them equal. Anything above 50-60fps is fast in my book.

Take a look at what you've written. Given AMD's naming scheme, the P4 3.2 represents a 3200. So a 3400+, 3500+, 3800+, and an FX all scored higher than a 3200. Big surprise there, huh?

take a good look at this .

the 3400+ trounces the 3.4EE, in fact the 3000+ is nearly even with the 3.4EE lol. AMD wins hands down

I never disputed the article, I was just pointing out how silly his note sounded.

He's just enthusiastic. I got 20 fps running at ultra on the next resolution setting, but i prefer my medium setting for smootheness. i'm trying to tweak it to see if i can get some extra performance out of the card, and hopefully the omega 4.9's will be out tomorrow.

um considering that the 3400+ is 2.2Ghz while the 3.2Ghz P4 EE with HT has 800FSB Dual Channel and 2MB of L3 and it still gets beat. Forget the name, the 3.2 and 3.4 EE costs an arm and a leg and for a price of 200 sumthin for a 3400 or 400 sumthin for a 3700, you get killer performance that beats out intel.

The extra L2 chace of the P4EE playes a part in it's performance boost. I would have found it more amusing if he had said,

"The AMD64 2.2 Ghz, chips all score higher than the P4 3.2Ghz Extreme Edition."

Anand tech is pretty unbiased if you ask me. They pretty much have reviews and benchmarks consistent with other review sites. That being said, if one has the choice of buying a new system with the P4 EE or an Athlon 64 3400 or higher, the safer choice IMHO would be to buy the Athlon as it has more headroom in terms of future upgradability (Socket 939) and will be Windows 64 compatible. If I had a P4 and was looking to upgrade, then the P4EE would be a more likely option. Both offer similar 32 bit performance for most things.
