Hey, Sager 4060 has been released. It doesn't have share video memory anymore. My question is: is this notebook support HT?
Adam, do you sell this system?
Yea, it does seem to support HT - if you go into their little system builder, you can choose 3.06ghz with HT.

I wonder how this compares to the 5670 in performance as this is smaller, lighter and less expensive...

There's also a fairly big graphic right under the laptop picture that says it supports hyperthreading... just click the link you provided.

Also, a little bird told me that PC Torque is looking into this system to possibly carry; I would bank on their "picking it apart" before I'd make a business decision. Of course, PC Torque looks at it from a maximum (or close to) performance issue; and this seems geared towards maximum business performance (and then some).

Too bad about the 802.11b wifi... would be nice if they quickly changed that to a/b/g (or at least some combo)

Check it out, that system even supports the higher speed ram. So, this system should actualyl outperform the old 5660 atleast, if comparing apples to apples. Plus, you've got a video camera and quite the discount there. Hmmm, makes me wonder....

Yes, we'll test it out and decide if we're going to carry it. If we do, it will be up within days for ordering. We'll have some specs up for it hopefully soon. It uses the SIS chipset which some don't like. It only has the SXGA+ LCD which we don't have the specs for, but it has 333 DDR and the M9 64MB and should be priced under the 5670 a little bit. I don't believe it supports HT yet, but we'll know soon enough and gladly share our opinions.

Looks like a 5670 with an 8887 design.

So...what does the 5670 have on it besides a bigger mem vid card?

wide angle UXGA, and the option for a second battery..

looking forward to hearing Adam's opinion on it.

"So...what does the 5670 have on it besides a bigger mem vid card?"

At the moment: UXGA option, higher potential screen resolution, DVD-RW drive option, an additional USB 2.0 port, option of an 80GB HD, and the option of a 2nd CD/DVD drive bay or battery.

hmm, with a m10 the 4060 would be perfect for me.. too bad it doesnt have one (or wont for a long time no doubt) :/

Although, for the price, this seems like a great laptop (weight/specs/etc). Id be really interested to see adam's results.

I for one would be *very* interested in seeing a review for this laptop. I just bought a refurb compaq 1525 for $1152. Yeah, I know, compaq.... but it was the only thing in the weight/size I wanted with decent specs for the right price.

I know that some ppl don't like SIS chipsets, but SIS has come a longways and this particular chipset (645DX) has received great reviews for both stability and performance (beating out even the 850E in 3D gaming tests). If they offered this chipset in the 5670, I would take it over the intel. (Never thought I would see myself type that).

In short, if you can show me the following, I will gladly ship back the compaq and buy the 4060 for a little more money with a 533MHz bus and M9. Only have 25 more days...

1. Stability playing FPS games ( I know the chipset is good, but what about the mobo itself)
2. Does not produce a "hot to the touch" surface
3. The mfg/model of the lcd screen (if you can provide the actual specs, even better)
4. Fans are not any louder than the ones in the 5670
5. Sturdiness of the case/lcd enclosure
6. Pretty pictures

Like to know:
1. The chipset used for the wifi module
2. Does the headphone jack have the same issue that ppl have reported with 5670. (I will use the headphone jack a lot)

I know you Adam and gsferrari have produced great reviews and do not doubt their abilities. These are just the items I think I would need to know now to make a decision. That is, as long as Adam decides to offer this model.

I just looked at Clevo's site, and they list the chipset as the M650DX, which I thought was the 645DX with a integrated graphics chip which would not make any sense.

Thank You,

FatTony

Adam, what is the chance that you will start to carry the 4060? I think that it would be a good addition to your current line of notebooks because there are many fellow forum browsers there that would like power, but don't need the full extent of the 5670/8887 or they don't have the money. The 4060 is a perfect compromise of price/performance.

Check the review section!

We had to test and review it first to decide if it's something we want to carry and be able to support it. After all who wants a reseller that just blindly puts products on their page not knowing if they're crap?

Actually I'm very impressed with it from the time I've already spent with it.

Awesome!!!

Very nice review!!

Considering that it is lighter and smaller than the other two and has almost the same performance - this laptop will be a very good seller IMO...

I am actually surprised that it doesnt fare BETTER the 5670 and 8887 with faster RAM...any ideas why this is the case??

Also - those copper bars?? what are they?? I am actually confused with the internal details in the picture where you show the RAM and the CPU fan...if you could just mark out which is the CPU (lol) and what the copper bars and stuff are it will be awesome.

Also in the built in camera picture : I see you've cleverly managed to avoid showin up in the pic hee hee !! very thoughtful!!

SUPERB LAPTOP at a very good price and I hope you will be carrying it really soon...

Can you tell us if you will be taking orders in the next few days??

Nice review. I guess I'm one of the ones that "hate" the IR and Firewire port in the front (so my gut gets in the way).

I do like the ON-OFF switch for BT and WiFi (would be nice to have one switch for both; but this is a great improvement).

Three latches for the keyboard is more than the 888x's big keyboard has: wow.

This would have been ideal for my wife had I not already bought her a Compaq back in November... well, maybe when it dies... (goes searching for a hammer)...

Adam, nice review, but..

what about:

The loudness of the fans compared to the 5670?

The temperature of the surface (palm rest and keyboard) as you start to actually "work" the cpu/vid card and/or hard drive?

The sturdiness of the case/lcd enclosure?

Stability while playing first person shooter games?

Were you able to get any information on the actual LCD?

Thank You,

FatTony
