3790 Ship Date

Luke@PCTorque responded to my earlier email, and said,

"We are hoping this units will start shipping around the 14th, but this
is not definite yet."

Straight from the source.

me thinks I will go for one of these rather than the 4750... sorry AMD

any ideas yet on the default clock for the 9700 in this baby?

I might go for the 3790 if were 17" and had a AMD 64 mobile proc in it, so I guess that would make it an entirely different machine huh?
I wonder what it would be called.
I wouldn't mind owning a 3750

same thing with an LV 3000+ AMD64... that would be da sh!t
post #26 of 126
you know with the 4750, you could probably switch out the processor for the lv 3000.

yeah but I prefer the 15.4 UXGA to a 17 SXGA. I am a resolution junkie... programmers like to see as much on one line as possible
furthermore, I like the idea of some battery life, and I like the lighter weight and smaller size. the attraction of the 4750 was the good price and great specs.

is it socket 754 too? I might wait till something comes out that is more powerful yet gives me more battery life and less heat if I'm gonna switch out procs

*btw, the 4750 has a WSXGA+, far from a SXGA
post #29 of 126
that would be the 3700 mobile athlon 64 62 watt chip

12-cell battery upgrade is now only $45...
how does the 12cell battery differ from the 6cell battery, besides the doubled(?) battery life? is it heavier, bigger (sticks out from laptop?), and just how much more performance can we expect?
