Yeah, Tom from pctorque confirmed that the battery on the np3790 is a simple latch that can easily release the brick. No screwing around! I'm looking at a spare and maybe once I get the machine and I test for duration time, I may consider a third 12 cell battery maybe a 6 cell for weight reduction. The other question I posted to them was if there was a plastic cover which replaces the battery when you are on power adapter. This would keep it clean in the battery compartment.

I speculate that if I can get 3-5 hours on a single 12 cell... I can get 9-15 hours on three. I'm all about the mobility....and the power.....weight too.....ok screen resolution.....ok design as well.....yeah and versatility.

That ctrl, windows, fn key issue seems weird to me... the default picture shows the ctrl key between the windows and fn keys, while the top view shows the ctrl key being the 3rd key from the left.

maybe they're modular and you can just swap out the keys and put 'em wherever you like

Gobble, gobble, gobble.

Was a reason stated as to why the Super-Glossy screens were discontinued for this model?
Perhaps the answer to that question (and many more I might add) could be found here:

Doesn't work for me....

i actually like the fact that it's non-glossy. i hate glare on computer screens.

the position of the CTRL key where the ALT key usually is might be a good thing too-- easier for your thumb to get to it?

Two Hinge System?!?!

I'm not too thrilled about the way this notebook only has two hinges on a WSXGA screen. This to me says "cracks galore!"

The 4750 has three hinges to reduce the stress and flex factors when opening the notebook.

Seeing this system with only two kinda scares me. Only way to find out is to see the first person who gets one of these.
Don't forget, it's only a 15.4" not a 17"...
i don't think anyone with 3760 had complained of cracked hinges...

looked intersting http://www.buyextras.com/lacowi4usb20.html
just thought i post since most people are buying there new lappys now and i thought they would like to see a decent looking accesory. I would think this would not be used on the lap but i have been wrong before.

i think there should be laptop coolers that are also docking stations. ones that could fit large/wide notebooks, have ps2 ports built in and such.

I like obimattkenobi's idea in a way.

Hey, I was looking at the two versions of the 3790, the C, and the S. The C only have the 1.5 ghz CPU. Is there any difference between the 1.5 and the 1.7+ (In terms of speed, but of course it's more expensive), so that it's worth getting the C, or just spend a little more for the S?

As long as the 1.5 is a Dothan, you won't see that much of a difference. Only 200mhz in actual clockspeed. BUT, I think the concensus around here is that the 1.7 is the best bang for the buck. So, I would suggest getting the 1.7 if you can. If the extra $$$ is a problem, get the 1.5. Either way, the Pentium M processors are very nice.

What is the estimated shipping cost for ground that Sager charges?
It was around $30 for the 8790 I had, and that thing is a beast. I bought from PCT though.
Oops, I meant PCT. By the way, where do they ship from? (I think I asked this question on the thread on Notebook General, sorry if you have to answer it twice)
