Where is the HP section?

Sager, Alienware, Dell, Toshiba and Gateway/eMachines. Where is HP/Compaq in all this?? How come we don't get a piece of the notebook forum pie . Sure we may not be the greatest, but I am sure there are plenty of people out there who have HP Pavillon and Compaq Presario notebooks. I think I am the only one with an HP notebook in the whole notebookforum universe. I know some dude has a compaq so I guess I am kinda not the only one but regardless. Us two are the only ones lol. Well feel free to argue me and tell me you have an HP/Compaq, but still where is the love....I mean HP!

I agree! I have an HP and when I came here for the first time I was also very, very confused!

A maybe HP, maybe Compaq person

I'm planning to buy my first notebook soon, and some of the finalists are the Pavilion zt3250 and zt3280, and the Presario x1360 and x1480, so I'm interested in any good advice.

This is for mixed use -- some bringing work home, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, will be taking online Java class, some investigating low-to-moderate complexity desktop mapping software, stat analysis, DVD viewing, and digital camera uploads. No gaming, or at least no high-speed, high-res graphics games. Not really for desktop replacement. Will use it in different locations around house (have wireless router), and on the run at times.

I like the sound of the Centrino-based systems -- moderate to good performance, low power and heat constraints.

I really want to buy an HP too. I am waiting for a mobile AMD 64 w/ a 128mb vid card and a 15.4" widescreen. Once they offer that combo I'll probably buy.

My work laptop is an old HP, pavilion ze5300. It's been solid and reliable since day 1. But they're not going to create a section for every single seller, even if they should.
Would rather see an HP section than a gateway/emachines.

NotebookGeneral is way too big, hard to keep track of.

I agree...where is the HP/Compaq section? There are many of us with HP's, and HP deserves its own section.

Agree with you there. Havent heard anything from Gateway since my friend's 486 tower. Seems like they fell off the face of the earth.

Other than the new eMachines 64-bit laptop, there isn't much to discuss on there, I don't think.

Well I jsut got my zx5000 and I am loving this thing. Just getting use to the keyboard is kinda annoying lol. Other than that this thing is great. Only bad thing is that it comes loaded with so much junk like AOL and HP music stuff. I just started to get rid of these things. I haven't loaded a game up yet because I am messed on the DSL install so now I kinda have to be sitting in my living room using this. Its a really ghetto setup. I can't wait to test this baby out in a game. I think Call of Duty is the game of choice, but I wanna get my DSL setup first . It kinda runs alittle slow since the Hard Drive aint 7200rpm. Ohh well, I only got the money in my pocket lol. :-D

I also am An HP owner (zv5260us) and I also love mine. I would like to have an HP section as well, but we also have to be realistic. Not every forum is going to have what everyone wants all the time. Although I would like to see one of the others booted and Hp put into its place =P. And to all who posted about the HP/Compaq problems, I've seen just as many problems with every other brand. Besides you should vote for us too, call us the "plucky comic relief" (and give us a share of the pie, lol)

Hey guys and just to say sorry for being a traitor to the guys in the emachines/gateways segment, I just devo-ed my gateway 7405 (YES GUYS YOU CAN STILL DEVO THEM AT CERTIAN BEST BUYS!!) and traded it for a custom build ZD7000. I've had to actually search the web to find out benchmarks, other people's thoughts on the machine, and what the hell I can tweak on it, a small section devoted to HP/Compaq users might be nice... I don't know just my 2 cents.
